VELUX Roof Windows
 

VELUX roof windows differ slightly from the typical skylight. A roof window is designed for
"in-reach" use and can be used as an emergency egress escape route. This style might be found in a finished attic space, upstairs rooms where outside access is needed or possibly an above the garage living space. Roof windows are their own design and are not meant to be used in direct combination with roof skylights.

VELUX Top Hinged Roof Window
  • Opens to a 45° angle to satisfy egress requirements for emergency escape
  • When roof window is closed a ventilation flap can be opened
 
VELUX Balcony Roof Window

(Model GDL)
  • Top sash opens for maximum ventilation and easy glass cleaning
  • Bottom sash opens outward to actually create a roof balcony
