VELUX designs their self flashed skylights for fast installation with a weather tight seal. The self flashed skylights are almost identical to their deck mounted skylight counterparts except that they include a factory installed flashing system to help shorten the installation time. With a self-flashing skylight, it installs right into the roof. Self flashing skylights are suitable for only standard shingle roofs.
